Voyage à Paris, partie 1

This past week, I had the joy and pleasure of being able to travel to Paris for 4 days! What ensued was a truly gastronomic experience and I can happily say that I achieved my goal of stopping for a pastry every couple of hours. Since we arrived late in the day, the first stop [...]

Kosher for Passover Flourless Chocolate Cake with Raspberry Sauce

Published by under cake,chocolate

Flour is forbidden during Passover which doesn’t make having good desserts after the Seder possible that often. But what do you do if it is a family members birthday? Matzah cake? Recently, there has been a new trend to create flourless chocolate cake and this year I decided to give it a whirl.

Triple Chocolate Mascarpone Cupcakes

This past weekend I made the most delicious triple chocolate cupcakes from Giada on Food Network. I’ve found that chocolate cupcakes can tend to wind up tasting really dry, but these cupcakes did not have that issue at all. The cake was moist and flavorful and rather than a traditional icing, the cupcakes were dipped [...]

Happy Friday Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Published by under chocolate,fruits,recipes

Happy Friday everyone! Enjoy these chocolate covered strawberries! To make the tuxedo strawberry, dip a strawberry in either melted white chocolate or whipped cream. Then dip each side into melted semi-sweet chocolate.  Use a toothpick to help you create the “buttons” and bowtie.

Christopher Norman Chocolates

Published by under chocolate

I was recently in Whole Foods and simply could not resist this gorgeous box of Christopher Norman Chocolates. The packaging was so beautiful I was immediately drawn to it. I raced home and anxiously removed the wrapping to taste the delicious-ness inside. But sadly, and I hate to say this, the chocolates did not hold [...]

“Baked” Peanut Butter Crispy Bars

Published by under chocolate,recipes

I’ve had the recipe book “Baked: New Frontiers in Baking” by Matt Lewis & Renato Poliafito for quite a while and have never gotten around to making anything from it, but tonight I finally made Peanut Butter Crispy Bars. Although this recipe seemed really simple, it actually had a couple of things that tripped me [...]

Dessert Shells

Published by under chocolate

I’ve made a couple of different chocolate pops or candies, but I’ve never tried making a shell or box. I wonder how difficult it would be to make these cute chocolate shells. http://www.amazon.com/Wilton-Dessert-Shell-Piece-Mold/dp/B001CEE4FK/ref=pd_bbs_10?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1238469865&sr=8-10
