Royal Icing

I’ve always been drawn to those beautifully drawn cookies in the stores and wondered how to make them, but they look so difficult to do. Apparently, the secret is royal icing, which is basically all egg whites and confectioners sugar that you beat until is reaches a solid enough consistency that you can pipe it and “draw” on your cookies with it. To make a smooth coating over your entire cookie, you can use a squeeze bottle. I was just reading a tutorial on Cake Journal and she makes it sound so easy that I’m definitely going to try it!

See her tutorial here.
